‘stanze di sogni e cinema: la stanza degli sguardi di federico fellini / la stanza del cinema sulla sabbia / la stanza delle parole di a’marena’’

From 18th July to 12th August ‘a’marena’ - the 14th Edition of the free-of-charge film show on the beach - reopens its ‘rooms of dreams and cinema’ in Rimini. Said initiative has been very much loved by the public – an audience of over 30,000 people in 2010 – as in the case of “La stanza del cinema sulla sabbia” or ‘Cinema on the Beach’, where films are shown on a different beach every night. In “La stanza delle parole di a’marena” (‘Room of Words of A’marena’) words like sea, sand, amarcord (nostalgic memory) unveil the soul of this outstanding event. Film lovers, and especially those who are very keen on vintage summer film shows on the beach watch films, and one film leads to another … as in the case of cherries or sour black cherries (amarene). The beach echoes with Federico Fellini’a amarcord. This year Fellini is a sort of ‘tutelar deity’ of the show, thanks to the ongoing collaboration with the Fondazione Federico Fellini Foundation. A section of the film show, “Federico Fellini/Akira Kurosawa: laboratorio di sogni”, and a room of Galleria dell’Immagine – a permanent art gallery in the inner city, completing the nomadic and beach-resort features of the film show – “La stanza degli sguardi di Federico Fellini”, are devoted to him. A’marena is sponsored by the Municipality of Rimini and CNA Rimini, under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth.
